2007 ANNUAL PICNIC (2008 Picnic is 9/6/08)
Each year, we have an annual picnic that is free to all UT alumni, fans, their friends and families. We usually have it in late September or October but usually on a weekend where there is no played football game. We will have the 2008 picnic September 6, 2008 at one of the hardest to reserve sites, the Ocean Pavilion in Carlin Park which is on the ocean. Starts at 11:00 am through 4:00 pm. Stay tuned for more updates. Here are some pictures from the recent 2007 annual picnic in Jupiter, Florida next to the ocean. Enjoy the pictures:

Adopt-A-Highway
Program and Other Community Events. Yes we are more than a football
party chapter. For over six years, we
have supported our community with such events as the Adopt a Highway Program
and food drives. Our participants include professionals such as lawyers,
accountants, doctors, executives and even some of our alumni who live in Palm
Beach. We are not afraid to get our hands dirty to contribute to a worthy
cause. Our adopted highway is on the
north end of Singer Island in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida (just a hundred yards south of
Duffy’s) near the intersection of Highway 1 and PGA Blvd on the A1A side all
the way to the entrance to MacArthur Park.
We have 4 events per year, usually in the coolest months of the year
from October to April. Look for our two
permanent signs on that highway stretch that identify our chapter. Check the
calendar of events on the home page for the next scheduled events. We
will start our 7th year for this event this October 2007.

Annual
golf tournament (scholarship raising). For over 8 years, we had a golf tournament for both
chapters. We completed our 8th
tournament on June 21, 2008 at the Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth.
Thanks for everyone who participates in this annual event. Here are some pictures from the 2008 golf
tournament:

Spring banquet. Usually in the spring, we have guests from UT to visit us for our annual spring banquet. We alternate athletic and academic speakers each year. See the above pictures of our last spring banquet whereas the guest speaker was Dr. Petersen, President of the University of Tennessee.
Who said the parties are over until the next football season?
Scholarships. We are always looking for students in our
area that want to go to UT.
Scholarships are available (based on certain criteria and grade point
averages) so contact your local chapter for more information. Our golf tournaments also generate
considerable funds for scholarships.

Florida or Tennessee? Guess she has already made her pick. You made the right choice baby.
Future chapter leaders. Yes we need VOLS to volunteer to be future
chapter leaders, officers and directors so if you are interested, get in touch
with us. Get involved.

Future VOLS and Chapter Leaders
Community Bulletin Board. Just contact us to list your profile, needs, announcements to over several thousand UT alumni and fans in south Florida. Both chapters have master email lists of hundreds of alumni and fans so you can reach a lot of people.
Annual leadership conference. We always have some of our chapter members to attend the annual alumni leadership conference in Knoxville in June so that we know what is happening with our school.
